Whidbey Island Beach Fishing

The beach fishing off the western side of Whidbey Island has been quite good the past few weeks. The number of pinks has been greater than the preseason estimates producing some very good fishing. We should see good pink fishing for at least another 10 days or so, before the numbers start to decline. The silver numbers should start to increase with each and every day and continue through September, when the season will close in Marine Areas 9 & 6.

Most anglers are fishing Rotators or Buzz Bombs for the pinks and silvers, though with increasing silver numbers many will change over and fish a float with herring.
