posted by Mike on 08/24/2018

Marine Area 2 to open 7 days per week for salmon fishing

Action: Marine Area 2 will be open seven days per week through Sept. 3. Anglers may retain two chinook as part of daily limit of two salmon beginning Aug. 24.

Effective date: Aug. 24, 2018

Species affected: Chinook and coho salmon

Location: Marine Area 2 (Westport)

Reason for action: Sufficient quota remains for both chinook and coho in Marine Area 2 to open salmon fishing seven days per week and to allow retention of more than one chinook salmon in the daily limit.

Additional information: Daily limit of two salmon, release wild coho.  The Grays Harbor control zone remains closed as listed in the 2018-19 Washington Sportfishing rules pamphlet.

Marine areas 1 (Ilwaco) and 4 (Neah Bay) remain closed to salmon fishing.

Marine Area 3 (La Push) remains open with a daily limit of two salmon, release wild coho.
