Winter Blackmouth Opens In Many Marine Areas November 1st

With fairly restricted salmon fishing seasons again this season, many aglers have awaited the opening of Winter blackmouth seasons in many of our Puget Sound Marine Areas. Here's a run down on whats going to open up tomorrow.

 

Marine Area 8-1 (Deception Pass, Hope Island and Skagit Bay) This area will open November 1st, 2017 and run through April 30th, 2018. Chinook - 22" min size. Other Salmon species - no min size. You must release all Coho and Wild Chinook. Daily Limit 1 Salmon. (Season may close earlier if Chinook guidelines are attained.)

 

Marine Area 8-2 (Port Susan and Port Gardner) This area will open November 1st, 2017 and run through April 30th, 2018. Chinook - 22" min size. Other Salmon species - no min. size. You must release all Coho and Wild Chinook. Daily Limit 1 Salmon. (Season may close earlier if Chinook quidlines are attained.) Be aware of the Tulalip Bay Closure.

 

Marine Area 9 (Admiralty Inlet) This area will open November 1st, 2017 and run through November 30th, 2017. (Will reopen January 16th, 2018 and run through April 15th, 2018) Chinook - 22" min. size. Other Salmon species - no min. size. You must release all Coho and Wild Chinook. Daily limit 1 Salmon. (Season may close earlier if Chinook quidelines are attained.)

 

Marine Area 10 (Seattle/Bremerton Area) This are will open November 1st, 2017 and run though February 28th, 2018. Chinook - 22" min. size Other Salmon species - no min. size. You must release Wild Coho & Wild Chinook. Daily Limit 2, only 1 hatchery Chinook may be retained. (Season may close earlier if Chinook guidelines are attained.)

 

Marine Area 11 (Tacoma/Vashon Island) This area will open November 1st, 2017 and run through April 30th 2018. Chinook - 22" min. Size Other  Salmon species - no Min. size. You must release Wild Coho and Wild Chinook. Daily Limit 2 Salmon. (See Commencement Bay Closures)

 

Make sure to read your WDFW regulations making sure you understand them as WDFW enforement agents are not very forgiving!
