Last Chance For Puget Sound Steelheading This Winter

Puget Sounds last remaining steelhead fishing opportunities will close after tomorrow, February 15th. The few terminal hatchery area will close to fishing until they reopen June 1st. (Providing the North of Falcon process proceeds normally). After tomorrow we all will have to travel to the Olympic Peninsula, Grays Harbor, Willapa Harbor or Columbia River tributaries to chase steelhead. Make sure to consult your regulation phamplet before venturing forth. As long as you are willing to travel there are many streams that will provide you action. Two of the most popular streams that will be coming on line with later "B" run winter steelhead will be the Cowlitz as well as the Skookumchuck. Both of these streams provide good steelheading starting shortly and running to the end of April.
