PERCH FISHING

posted by Mike on 09/09/2016

With the weather changes, cooling temperatures and Fall just around the corner means perch fishing for many. We have been getting some good reports from both Lake Washington and Lake Stevens. Anglers have been getting good numbers of these tasty fresh water delights. The single hardest thing about perch fishing is locating them. Once you have they are very willing to please and bite well. The guys we have spoken with fishing Lake Washington have been doing well in 25 - 40 feet of water off the edges of weed beds. You can cruise over an area with your depth / fish finder until you locate the schools then anchor up and still fish them just off the bottom. Bait can be just as simple as a worm or a piece of perch meat. Remember limit yourself to what you are willing to clean. When the perch are biting well you can easily over do things and end up with far more than you need. A deep fried perch fillet is hard to beat. The next couple of months will produce good perch fishing in a great number of Washington Lakes. There are literally 100's of lakes in the state that produce good perch fishing.
