September Lake Stevens Kokanee Fishing

Looking for somethig to fish for? The kokanee fishing at Lake Stevens has been quite good for the few that have been fishing lately. Many have been getting limits of nice fat 13 - 16 inch fish. These fish are still in good shape though they are just starting to take on a little coloration. The fish have been in the 30 - 50 foot zone, far shallower than would be expected. With a summer much cooler than last and what seems to be an early Fall I can understand why the fish are not as deep as usual.

In talking with the guys that have been fishing and catching the single thing that seems to be a consistant factor is to fish smaller presentations. Most are fishing smaller blades fishing size 1's or even 0's with just a few beads. Small size 14 Spin N Glows have been quite productive.

This fishery should hold up through the end of the month and perhaps even into the first part of October. Just remember that these fish will continue to color up more with each passing day.

Though this is not Coho fishing by any means at least it's something to do!
