Skagit River Pink Salmon Report From August 1st, 2015

With the Skagit opening today for salmon fishing from the mouth to Gilligan Creek there were good numbers of folks fishing the river hopeing to connect with some pink salmon. We spoke to one group of fishermen that managed to land 11 pinks for the three of them today. Their secret for success was plunking Spin N Glows baited with sand shrimp. We are just at the start of the humpy season and we should just see better fishing as the season progresses.

Remember this year you must release all Chinook and Chum salmon. It's a four salmon limit combined of which you can only retain 2 wild Coho.

Ted's has lots of plunking gear for pinks. We have a large selection of Spin N Glows in all the favorite colors. We try to keep fresh sand shimp on hand though it has been a little bit of a challenge this past year.

If you have not participated in this fishery just stop by and we'll be glad to help you out.
