Cascade River Report, June 2014

The Cascade River in Skagit County is usually a go to river for Chinook on opening day (June 1st). This year it was for the most part a bust! Other than single small Chinook and a handfull of nice Dolly Varden it just didn't happen.  Perhaps the fish will show up a little later.

This is an extremely popular and usually productive stream, why it did not produce well ones guess is as good as anothers. It is perplexing as there are good numbers of chinook already in the Cascade hatchery.
