Salmon Limit Reduced To 1 Fish In Marine Area 9

Salmon daily limit reduced after Feb. 9 in Marine Area 9

Action: Reduces daily limit to 1 salmon in Area 9.

Effective Date: Effective 12:01 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 through 11:59 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2014.

Species affected: All salmon.

Location: Marine Area 9 (Admiralty Inlet).

Reason for action: Preliminary estimates indicate that encounters with legal size hatchery and wild chinook are projected to exceed the preseason expectations which were set to ensure compliance with conservation objectives and agreed-to management plans. The fishery is being modified to control impacts on stocks of concern.

Other information: Reduces daily limit to one salmon in Area 9, excluding the Edmonds Fishing Pier. Release wild chinook except at Edmonds Fishing Pier. Anglers should consult the Fishing in Washington, Sports Fishing Rules pamphlet for specific regulations for the Edmonds Fishing Pier.
