Skykomish River - Steelhead Reports 12 / 18 /13

Overall we have had just a ho hum steelhead season so far this season. Thats not to say that there are not fish being caught, but the fishing isn't as good as it should be for this time in the run. We have been seeing some fish coming out of the Reiter Ponds section of the river with some folks even getting a limit of fish from time to time. For the most part we have been hearing of 8 - 12 fish coming out the ponds on any given day.  For the most part it has been a float and jig or a float and bead show with the low clear water conditions we have been seeing for the greater part of this season. We have been hearing of a few fish being caught in the middle and lower sections of the Sky for those of our customers that do not relish the crowds of the ponds.

We hope that we get a little rain in the near future to raise the river a bit and hopefully bring in a few fresh fish.  If after the next high water we do not see any numbers of fish in the system I think we can come to a conclusing that we are not going to see much of a season this year.
