2013 Coho And Pink Salmon Season Underway

The pink and coho summer salmon season has started in the Pacific Northwest. In the last week or so, we've entered the peak time for fishing and we're anticipating another one to two weeks before it starts to slow down. We've had tons of reports from customers about catching fish in rivers such as the Skagit, Snohomish, Puyallup, and Nisqualie, as well as off the beach on Whidbey Island at Fort Casey, Lagoon Point, and Bush Point.

Rotators, Buzz Bombs, and a variety of jigs have again been the predominate tackle. If you're just getting started, or need a new setup, you can find our recommendations listed below for rods, reels, and tackle. These are available online, in-store, and by phone.

Okuma Celilo Medium Spinning Rod
Shimano Symetre 4000 or Shimano Solstace 4000
Rotators (Pink, Chartreuse)
SMI Beads (Red-Orange, White Glow)
Matzuo Single Siwash Hooks w/Swivel
