Lake Stevens Kokanee - Heating Up

The Lake Stevens kokanee fishing has been heating up the past couple of weeks with limits landed by a number of our customers recently. Most of the fish are in the 11 to 13 inch range with the largest that I have heard of so far being a 16 1/2 inch fish by one of my customers today. Everyone that I have spoke with has been fishing the surface down to about 30 feet. As far as the gear goes the typical dodger & blades with beads (Wedding Rings) baited with either maggots or corn has been producing. Another productive set up has been small hoochies in the mini sardines or the 1.5 octopus in pink colors with either a blade or small spin n glow fished in front. This offering also baited with maggot or corn. Don't for get the 4th Annual Lake Stevens Kokanee Derby coming up on Saturday May 18th.
