Samish River King Salmon

With much of our nornal salmon fishing opprotunities non existant this season due to the very poor returns of Coho you might consider fishing the Samish River this season. The fishing has taken off this week with good numbers of Chinook being caught. The remaider of this month through September is the time to be fishing "The Ditch" as it is commonly refered to by the regulars. This is fishery that is at the top of the list when it comes to combat fishing, with anglers lined up shoulder to shoulder. You will also see a good cross section of the public when you are fishing here. The Samish is what it is, but the one thing I can tell you that it is open and has quite a good run of fish returning to it due to the Samish Hatchery.
