Lake Stevens Kokanee - Starting To Happen

Though not red hot yet, the kokanee reports from this popular lake have finally been showing some positive results. We have been hearing from some of our regular customers coming up 4 -6 fish for a quick morings fishing from dawn until 8:30 or so. The bite has been early and those getting a late start have not been doing well. Most of the fish have been from the surface down to around 10 feet. First thing in the AM there have been a few of the customers tossing small jigs such as Pucci or Gibbs minnows in 1/2 - 3/4 ounce sizes in pink colorations to the jumpers and having some success. Most of the fish have been in the 11 -13 inch range and are nice and fat.

This fishery should improve over the next few weeks as weather continues to improve and water temps start to climb.

Remeber May 14th is the 6th Annual Lake Stevens Kokanee Derby. Tickets are $20.00 and can be found at all of the usual locations.
