Columbia River Report - August 4th
Though it will be a couple of weeks before we are into the peak of the Buoy 10 Chinook fishing the catches that we have been seeing have in fact been quite good. Talking with Matt Chandler of Get Hooked NW Guide Service this afternoon he said he had 9 take downs this morning and ended up with three Chinook and a steelhead for his clients. He said that Saturday and Sunday both resulted in limits for his customers. He said that the Washington side of the Columbia has been more productive since the opener. Herring fished behind an in-line flasher such as a Fish Flash, Agitator or Short School Bus with leads of 12 - 16 ounces on a dropper has been the ticket. If you have any questions on setting up your outfit just stop by and the Ted's crew will be happy to fill you in.
Fishing is really just getting started at the present time and will only get better in the up coming weeks.
Matt still has a few oenings for this season give him a call at (206) 877-3027 and he'll work hard to show you a good time on the river.
