Changes In Canadian Halibut Limits & Size Restrictions

Limits and sizes March 15 - March 31: Daily limit one Possession limit two Only one greater than 83 cm or 32.7inches (approx 15.7 pounds) with head on and 63 cm or 24.8 inches head off April 1 until further notice: Maximum length is 126 cm or 49.6 inches (approx 56.5 pounds) with head on and 95 cm or 37.4 head off. Daily limit one Possession limit two - of which one must be less than 83 cm head on (63 cm head off) and one must be less than 126 cm head on (95 cm head off) Annual limit - six halibut per license holder Retaining your halibut: Record date, area from which it was caught and length of halibut in ink on your license.
